INSPIRATION: Various Sources
The inspiration for last week’s project did not come from one single source; rather the inspiration came from multiple places.
Any time I take photos I am inspired by the many great photos I have seen over time created by various photographers.
If I limit the number of photographers I mention here to just a few I would have to say that the following three have had an impact on me in one way or another.
I have been following Jorge’s work for some time now through his blog. After looking though his online photography collection it can be hard to pinpoint what it exactly is that Jorge shoots. Unlike some photographers who shoot only weddings or pets, with Jorge it seems that he shoots what interests him and what is around him. I think this is perhaps the reason why his photographic work inspires me. The fact hat the ordinary can be taken and transformed into the extraordinary is something I admire.
Although I don’t know much about Marina other than she lived in Toronto at some point (she may still) I do love her photography.
I love her photographs so much that she is the only person on Flickr I have ever written a testimonial about. This is what I had to say:
“Each day I look forward to a number of things; checking to see if Marina has posted a new photo is at the top of the list.
Marina’s photos make me want to take more pride in my photos, they inspire people, the make people think.
Flickr and the visual world will be at a loss the day she decides to no longer take photos.”
I have had the opportunity to meet David and talk to him on a regular basis and I have to say that aside from being a great photographer he is an all around great guy.
The thing I love about David’s work more than anything it his style and consistency.
Apart from a few photos when he was first starting out online, all of his work is consistent in style through each image he produces.
If it’s one thing I can’t wait to find and develop over time is a consistent style of my own.
